Going Up

New construction – Rosslyn, Virginia

Every time I go down to Rosslyn, I’m always wandering around drop-jawed. I used to work in Rosslyn back in the 1990s, and it’s always been one of the fastest developing business spaces that I’ve ever seen – with new buildings and construction constantly happening over the years. And unlike DC – right across the river – Rosslyn doesn’t have the height restrictions, and they build tall there.

Gorgeous Day

Jutland Creek – Ridge, Maryland

From a brilliant winter day down on the water. Back when we owned our sailboat, I used to go down and check on it every month. Given that the commute to the boat could take as long as four hours when the traffic was bad, going down there was generally an all-day affair, even if the visit was for just checking the lines and making sure that it was secure. As a result, I always took my camera and wandered around looking for photo opportunities – and this was one of them.

Published – Sunrise at the Marina

Our sailboat – Ridge, Maryland

This image was the leading photograph for the West Marine 2013 calendar, which was published and distributed nation-wide to all West Marine customers. I had actually been interested in getting a photo the opposite direction, then happened to glance behind me, and was stunned by this gorgeous sunrise.
